=============About the recording=============

The flute used on this video, is a beautiful, live sampled VIRTUAL Shakuhachi of highest quality from NI. The track was recorded live and remixed / remastered afterwards in FL studio 12.
What is a virtual instrument? – In this case the sound is recorded from a live shakuhachi flute player with different microphones around the flute, to capture the sound as precisely as possible, and is then digitalized.

=============About the Shakuhachi flute=============

The Shakuhachi ( meaning 1.8 shaku and referring to the size ) was originally introduced from China into Japan in the 6th century. The shakuhachi is traditionally made of bamboo. It was used by the monks from a branch of the Zen Buddhism, and used in the practice of suizen (blowing meditation). The sound is a full, rich tone, with different possibilities for variation, like not covering the holes completely.

This recording makes use of a live sampled flute and is combined with live sampled ocean waves.
